With 10+ years of experience in advertising and art direction, I now collaborate with brands and international agencies as a freelance lifestyle photographer.
Lifestyle photography is a way of showcasing products or services in a realistic and believable manner, allowing consumers to connect with the images and see themselves reflected in them in an inspiring way.
Whether I’m shooting a sports or an automotive campaign, I approach photography with purpose and a clear vision to shape ideas into creative images. Each project is both a challenge and an opportunity to find the visual expression that meets the project’s needs. Success isn’t just delivering beautiful work — it’s seeing the work make a difference and positively impact the brand’s communications objectives.

Hello, welcome to more information than you’ll ever need about me.
My name is Rodrigo Chaparreiro. I’m a lifestyle photographer and art director based in Barcelona. I’m passionate about nature and sports.
I was born in Lisbon, Portugal.
Regular kid, a bit shy. Went to a high school that specialized in arts
(Antonio Arroio) followed up to IADE to study design and visual arts.
I grew up with a healthy dose of sea, from sailing to bodyboarding and failing at surfing. Skateboarding is also something I love and suck very much at, but the culture around it has fascinated me to this day. Music is a big part of my life. I had my band play concerts and even recorded a few songs.
My father was a photographer (yeah I know... but it's true), and I've always been around cameras, dark rooms, prints, and the smell of photo fixer.

In 2006, I moved to Barcelona, with the objective to keep working as a graphic designer, but the opportunity presented itself and I switched to advertising. Working as an art director, over the years, I’ve had the opportunity of working with renowned clients like
Jägermeister, Audi, Škoda, and Eristoff to name a few even collecting a few awards that go "roooaaar" along the way… and honing my skills in visual storytelling, art direction, and design.
In 2010, I founded Lucky Bastërds, and Cyclo, Lucky Bastërds was an urban cycling apparel brand, while Cyclo was a cultural event that bridged the cycling culture and design.
While my roots lie in graphic design, my love for photography has been a constant throughout my life.
What initially began as a hobby has evolved into my profession. The transition from art direction to photography was a natural progression.

My experience in the advertising industry has given me a unique understanding of client needs, enabling me to capture unique moments to tell authentic stories tailored to the brand’s narrative.
My love for nature, sports, and music has always been a part of my life and has become an integral part of my creative journey and constant source of inspiration and motivation.
Photography is more than just a career; it is a reflection of the life I cherish.
I’m a traveler, a runner, and a cycling enthusiast. Instinctively, I connect my own experiences with the subjects I’m shooting.
I seamlessly blend nature, architecture, and textured details that make up our lives and celebrate the relationship between people and their surroundings.
